Great monk, translator of the five Nikāyas

Lay name Đinh Văn Nam, son of the Hoàng giáp Đinh Văn Chấp. Founder of Vạn Hạnh University (Saigon, 1965), he translated the five Nikāyas of the Pali canon — the first time the whole of the Buddha's words appeared in Vietnamese.
